oil sandwich plate

Hi. I forgot to make a note of which way the pipes go on the sandwich plate feeding my oil cooler. Can anyone advise.

Thanks Steve. I am running a remote filter as well, so which would be the in and out on the sandwich plate.

Ok thanks. Lets see if I have I got this right.
Going 'in' goes to the outside of the housing and the out comes fom the 'inside'
The reason I ask is that I took the car round the block and felt both the oil cooler and the remote filter and they were both cold.
Thanks for your advice and patience for what I suppose is a simple question.
