Can anyone recommend a company in Kent, preferably in the Medway area, who can lighten and balance a flywheel?

Many thanks,

Neil

Many thanks for the suggestions - I'll have a chat with both of them next week.

Has anyone any other suggestions or recommendations?

Does anyone know how critical it is to have the clutch balanced along with the flywheel, or if it feasible to have the flywheel balanced on its own? The flywheel will be skimmed down from about 8.9kg to about 7.1kg, so it won't be incredibly light, meaning the clutch won't be a large proportion of the total weight.

Unfortunately iamotorsports have just sold their lathe, and minsterpower closed shop in (I think) 2013. Iamotorsports suggested S&J engineering, but they're unable to balance the flywheel after lightening... which I guess wouldn't be a great idea.

That the clutch should already be balanced sounds quite logical!

Any more suggestions?

Baldyne engineering seem perfect, but are slightly too far away to be practical. I'll have to speak to my mechanic about sending parts away - I think time has got too tight. He's spoken to a couple of local shops who've refused the work - I assume due to liability.

I've driven an R-Ltd MX-5, which came with a lighter flywheel, and the engine was noticeably more lively. By lightening my flywheel I'm hoping to achieve the same thing - I track the car occasionally, and am an habitual heel n' toe-er, so a more responsive engine would be welcome.
