Hello all!

This is my first post.

Hopeing someone will be able to help me with my gear changes in my 2013 Kia Ceed 1.6 diesel with 53k on the clock.

For a long time my car used to grind when moving off in first or second, after a year of owning the car Kia agreed to replace the clutch release bearing and the clutch itself which has solved this issue. However the gear changes are just not smooth especially between 2-3. The trouble is worse in the morning when the car is cold. Sometimes when going into 3rd I have to hold the gear into it slots in, generally around 5 seconds, or take it out of gear re-engage the clutch and it goes in.

When changing gear the gearbox does not feel smooth most of the time and it feels like something is holding back the gear change. The gears have never grind or vibrate in any regard.

Any ideas?

Thanks

It would seem quite simple to me, you aren't happy with at least one aspect of the job they did, take it back.
Sorry should of said, it was doing this before the clutch repair. Kia Warranty only works if the component is broken, I'm trying to find the issue before I claim.

Sounds like an odd sort of warranty, where you have to diagnose it yourself.
You don't have to, but if the part is not broken they don't fix it. Or if the code reader doesn't find anything or the technician doesn't find a fault in a short test drive they just hand the car back to you.

But I found with Kia if you tell them what the faulty part is they tend to agree and replace it.

That's certainly not my experience. They've always been very good with my cars. Dealer issue?

Did you demo the the fault to the technician?

If yes, why didn't they fix it?

If no, why the hell not?!
Could be a dealer issue, theres two in my area I've been tempted to go to the other dealer. To be fair to them they're quite nice people, I demo my car 7 times with the clutch. Then they said to me keep driving until it get serious.... And twice with the radio fault until I filmed the issue, then they did some re-wiring work and keep asking me did I modify the radio.

I have not been back with the gearbox yet, though planning to next Saturday. Its been a busy old month with sick grandparents and girlfriend moving in.
