Hi,

When accelerating and turning sharply in my wifes Peugeot 106 a vibration occurs, this feels like it is coming from the front of the car and is accompanied by a slight rumble. When decelerating the vibration does not occur.

Because this issue is related to speed when accelerating I'm thinking it must be the CV joints next to the gearbox. I've been under the car and the CV boot nearest the passenger front wheel is leaking grease, could this cause the issue? I'm assuming that if vibration can be felt the joint must be worn so a drive shaft is neccessary.

The vibration occurs when I turn left or right - does this mean that both sides are worn?

Final question, the workshop manual states that to get the drive shaft off I must undo the hub nut. THis is torqued to 245 lb/ft or 181nm. Should I be able to undo this with a 600mm breaker bar or will something bigger be needed?

Thanks,

Ralph.
