I hear some people say some cars are better for this than others. Anyone have a list of which ones are ok or not?

Or failing that how about running something like a 50/50 mix of veg oil/diesel in something like a 1997 Peugeot 106 1.5 straight diesel or a 200Tdi Land Rover?

Thanks.

However if you want to be serious, what's the fuel pump in the 106?
No idea, which is sorta why I was asking. The disco has a Bosch Jetronic unit. Ta smile

I was just thinking new veg oil from the supermarket. It's cheaper than diesel. So thought about running it as a 50/50 mix just to cut running costs a bit.

The Pug is only a commuter and only cost £650, so if it only ran for a year before grinding to halt it wouldn't really matter.

The Disco was just a thought that if it worked ok in the Pug and cut costs then it would seem silly not to do the same if it wan't risky.

I'd rather not bugger the Disco engine though as I only fitted it a few years back after blowing the original. Not sure on the exact year, but all 200TDI where the same.
