I know this makes me sound a bit of an anorak, but there were 29 Odyssey Blue CV8s originally (the same number as yellow) and in the 2 1/2 years I've had mine and all the meets I've been to, I've only ever seen one other.( Owned by a Scottish guy called George, who is a lurker!)

It would be interesting to know how many of this rare colour are still at large. I know some of you are lurkers, so it would be nice if I could tempt you into posting.

I'll start the ball rolling with mine.

I forgot to mention, if anybody comes across a paint code that works, post it here (please!)

Please don't suggest the code on the chassis plate, I've no idea where they got that one from. confused

good bodyshop should be able to mix you some up
nono You'd think so wouldn't you? Apparently the paint code is so far out that it's a custom mix to get the blue/silver ratio right. Mine took 5 attempts to get it somewhere near. rolleyes And that was a well known VX (Holden approved) bodyshop.

swordfishcoupe's old car I think is still up here in Glasgow but has been up for sale for while, owned by young Italian guy Paulo. So thats a Ron and a Paulo but never come across a George up here.
I think George lives in Norfolk now, but thanks for the sensible reply. It's more than I get from those buggers on the bbq.

Thanks Hex, very interesting. 276M is the correct code, but there does seem to be a problem where paint shops use machines to mix it themselves. I'd love to re-spray the front bumper and get rid of the stone chips, it's the only part of the car that isn't perfect.

Maybe the answer is to buy the paint and give it to the shop to use.

I have some touch up paint still, but it's not really worth the trouble. The colour match is awful

Buying paint in is the only reliable way. The smart arse paint shops that say they will mix it will never get it right
