Full Power Launch 2014
Discussion
Firstly, I've checked with richie () and I'm allowed to post this.
Last your lots of you (about 34 I think) came down to the V8UK Full Power Launch event in Northampton. This was they first event of the year for a lot of people, and a great time was had by all.
There's a write up and pictures here for reference:
http://www.v8uk.co.uk/the-full-power-launch/
Anyway, unsurprisingly, we're doing the same again this year, although as Ken's Diner is shut, we'll be heading over to a different diner/cafe for lunch.
There's some event details here, although I'll add them below for convenience
http://www.v8uk.co.uk/event/2014-full-power-launch...
Sunday April 13th, 9am @ Paragon MOT & Service (NN4 8JD) for a cup of tea, a chat, and possibly some bacon rolls
Around 11 / midday we'll then head over to the diner which is approximately 10 miles away for some grub. We'll hand out convoy route on the day, and let you guys know nearer the time as well.
For those of you that do the book of faces, there's an event here:
https://www.facebook.com/events/589038091164899/
Feel free to sign up, and invite friends etc. anyone is welcome, you'll just get a better parking spot if you've got a proper engine
Any questions feel free to ask in here, I'm sure there'll be some convoy threads starting nearer the time

Anyone is welcome, so there's no list entry needed, if you're on facebook it'd be useful if you could add yourselves to the event, but that's just because it's nice to see the numbers going up
Thanks for all your enthusiasm as always guys and gals, you really helped make last year a good year for V8UK, we could always count on a good number of Aus muscle cars turning up to every event

Mikey what time you leaving
Well it's around 4hours away, but I reckon I can probably do it 3.5 (clear roads etc). So I'll be setting off around 5.30 to get there for 9 A big thanks to all of you, I've just stuck a thread on the V8UK forum about Northern Convoying as I know of a few people also coming down from Manchester for example, so could make for some more fun on the M6
Thread here if you fancy a read, may give some clues as to who/what to look out for

Care to post up some checkpoints guys? Think this'll be mine;
I'm going to pop these over on the V8UK forum as there's a thread over there about a Northern convoy (albeit undersubscribed!)- M42 Hopwood Services = Arrive 6:50AM, depart 7:00AM
- M6 Corley Services = Arrive 7:30AM, depart 7:40AM
- M1 Watford Gap services = Arrive 8:00AM, depart 8:10AM
- Paragon = Arrive 8:30AM to get good parking spots
Not long now, have shared the NW convoy plans through the facebook event, and mentioned the Leicester Forest East bit too, hopefully round you guys up some competition, sorry, support...
Not that FB is a guarantee of attendance (although more turned up than expected last year, and that was our first event ever) but we're up to 89 going, with 21 maybes and a further 71 invited who haven't responded.
It could well be quite a morning!
Those further south, there's a C6 Corvette and a C63 meeting at Pear Tree services off A34 next to Oxford at 7.45am if you fancy

Is that leave at 8:15?
It's 15 miles straight up the M1, so I'd assume it will take under 15 minutes from Toddington to NP, so maybe get there for 8:10? I'll put 8:10 to 8:20 on the FB page

Firstly a big thanks to all you lot for coming along, we managed to give you a better selection to look at this year, last year the Australian contingent was 34 / 70, this year I believe it was 23 / 82, so it really wouldn't have been the same without you, much quieter especially
My post at the front of the convoy meant a fairly sedate drive, after parking up to allow people to line up, I then proceeded at 10mph for the next half a mile onto a dual carriageway, and according to Alex at the back of the queue, he still hadn't left yet!
The convoy did get broken up as a result, trying to tow ~ 70 cars out of a town is quite tough, so I think we ended up with two fairly large groups. I didn't even get close to a speed limit until we were well on to the A43 in an attempt to keep everyone bunched together, but traffic lights / roundabouts and merging onto dual carriageways meant it just wasn't to be.
We have a plan for next year though to try and keep everyone together, as some of the sites in the mirror were still amazing!
We've got somebody putting together a video of the day, and there's some good footage and photos from our overhead and layby cameramen, we managed to bunch our group up over both lanes as we went past the layby, apparently it was like the start of a NASCAR race
Couple of snaps I took in Holden Alley, I was preoccupied trying to get photos of everything so didn't take many wider shots, but there'll be plenty coming!

Brilliant , brilliant day.
Massive thanks to Wozza for driving me and my son down, following my car woes (all good and back on the mend!)
Probably the wrong forum to mention it, but the passenger ride I had in the AMG Brabus for the covoy to Jack's cafe was amazing! Serious, serious poweeeerrr!!!
Yeh Oli's just had headers, a de-cat and a map done on it, stock they are limited to 455bhp, you can see on the dyno it just utterly flatlines from 4,500 on, so he made some serious gains!Massive thanks to Wozza for driving me and my son down, following my car woes (all good and back on the mend!)

That gearbox just means the acceleration is relentless though, no chance to keep up when peddling your own, but then you do get to enjoy more of the noise
Glad you and Liam had a good day too, see you again soon
