Hi all - just sharing the pictures of my spot lamps - I had them wrapped with 'rally grade' (apparently) film.

Hopefully, it will protect them from flying stones (albeit small stone). Previously, I've had to replace 2 spots and they are not cheap as you know. I noticed a chip in my bumper right next to the recess a couple of weeks ago so decided to take some action.

Had it done professionally while my car was in getting replacement discs and pads.

But ... I also had something else done. Can you spot it? (You have to look closely)

whistle

Regards

Ian

Indeed - good spot (excuse the pun).

Looks like your bumper needs looking at more than anything.
?

Must be the light or the angle as, apart from a few stone chips, it's fine.

Yep - just taken a few more pics. And, as long as you promise not to scream, I'll post some of the stuff that's going on behind the bumper later when I find them (the garage took them).

Now ... before anyone asks, it's not intended to use to pull out of a deep ditch! (When the bumper would likely be fcensoredd anyway) - but it's fine(and been tested) for towing back home, onto a breakdown truck (or back to the pits!).

I'm very chuffed with how it's come out.

Closeup of what you see - hardly noticeable:

With the tow ring in (opposite thread of course):

Side on - well clear of the bumper so no scratches from the tow hook! (Think this might be from a Vectra)

Close up and fitted: (It's going back in to be under-sealed in a couple of months and we may fit a plastic ring into the mesh to finish off even better (maybe a cap screwed into the thread to keep the muck out).

You sure about that? Look under the numberplate in the last pic, you have lost a section of the bumper and can see the foam innards.
No - it's fine .. honest. (But I see what you mean. Looks like there;s a chunk missing!).

Here you go - it's the light (think it's the refection of the bricks). Thank you for pointing out though. (but I suspect I would have noticed).
