LS1 VXR headers an upgrade over LS1 CV8 headers?

V8 heads,

does anyone know whether the headers from a LS1 VXR would be an upgrade over the headers fitted to the LS1 CV8? Any useful knowledge gratefully received.

I take it they are a straight swap for the current CV8 headers? The rest of the exhaust is getting changed, so it's only the mounting onto the engine side of things that I'm concerned about getting right

Well, I've bought the LS1 VXR headers and will be collecting them later this week (hopefully). I'll let you all know whether they fit or not. ARAF, since you're local you're welcome to measure them up for your Ute too.

I'd appreciate a hand fitting them. Having read the below link, I think it'd come untuck doing them by myself.

I have a friend in Eythorne (just off the A2 for Dover) with a two post lift, so at least access should be okay.
