VXR8 Subwoofers crap (or not)

Anyone who has a VXR8 knows that the 2 8" subs on the back shelf don't really perform 
One way to get more bass is to adjust the bass amp (by the battery) as it's normally set at around 50% & turn it up to 100%, i tried this and found to be honest it didn't make much difference
So did a bit of searching around and found a mod that transforms the performance of the standard subs
It seems the 2 subs are out of phase with the rest of the speakers, there are 2 wires on the subs which you can get to from the boot, all you need to do is change them around on each sub, as standard the green wire is closest to the rear seat & the yellow wire closest to the back of the car, just swap these around which takes about 15mins max with a soldering iron and you now have a load more bass, i do like cheap & easy mods
ps...before anyone says i do like the sound of my exhaust but i also like to listen to music

You Sure it's working? I had to turn mine back down to about 70% as any more was too much - what bass/treble etc settings do you have on the HU (turn the equalizer settings off)?The bass is also turned up quite a bit in the base/treble equaliser settings.
