Not an issue on my GTS as I've already been stopped for having a mis spaced plate front and back and also a smaller plate on the front of the Monaro when I had it. Once bitten, twice shy and all that.

FYI - V80 CYL shown as V8 0 CYL and was fully readable by ANPR at the time.

However, I wonder if the new rules regarding not having to display a tax disc and the BIB reliance on ANPR systems, whether there will be a bigger crack down on non conforming number plates whether readable or not ?

A nice little extra cash earner with a better backing of an excuse for getting pulled, also a prime oppertunity to have a look for other defects, exhaust noise, tinted front side windows etc?

No Probs Mikey.

Just next time you are out, look to see how many number plates there are on the roads that are badly spaced, illegal fonts etc.

It seems the norm these days !!

At £100 a pop now, it must be quite tempting for the BIB to get more strict ?

Thought only VOSA carried the equipment to measure Db levels or do the BIB now have the equipment ?

Got collared few years back for displaying T60 LOX as T 60LOX with a craftily doctored letter B to make it look like bks lol got away with it once then 2 years later had it revoked by the DVLA as I got stopped as I came off a ferry in newcastle and the BIB had set up an anpr camera to catch uninsured motorists.

As Gareth mentions the DVLA sell these plates knowing they will be doctored to suit the owners requirements. Just remember we never own the Reg Number we simply pay to have the right to display it. Luckily I only paid £99 for the plate above but some can costs thousands.
Exactly, the DVLA can revoke your plate and then are free to sell it again !
