Pulled up at home this afternoon and as I was parking up a nasty noise was coming from engine bay, lifted bonnet to hear it was coming from supercharger (harrop 122) so turned engine off straight away, anyone experienced this on there's?

Common problem with the 122s.
As long as you are careful it won't stop you using it. Fixing won't really be cost effective, wait till you can upgrade to a tvs1900
How much is a tvs1900 going to cost compared to fixing the 122 then?

Amazing how quickly things can escalate...

"I've got a suspected worn bearing, I'm guessing the best / only solution is to upgrade the S/C?"

hehe
Not even thinking about it, was just trying to work out jez's equation, don't have the funds like a lot of guys/girls on here!

Have spoken with roger this morning and he was as always very helpful, started car up and ran it up for 10mins, then took it for a drive to work and give it a bit of stick, wet roads didn't help much but was fun trying lol, noise has not come back yet, will take it down the motorway tonight to give it a proper run, possible that some water/muck has got into bearing I suppose, car was parked up all night on a slope with the front end higher than the back so may have cleared out, but I am always an optimist!

Took the car for a good run tonight and despite wet roads managed to get enough grip to get the supercharger working well (still smiling), noise has not returned, fingers crossed it doesn't!

Is the bearing you refer to on the lay shaft? Can't be too hard for someone to repair the 'hole' where the bearing goes.
Sounds like it just needs the hole to be less slippery, maybe threaten it with marriage?hehe

Sorry to drag this up again but noise has returned, have to get it sorted now so just wanted to know if this is an easy diy job or will it need to go to a specialist? Also anything else worth renewing while the charger is off the car?
Thanks Gary
