Anyone here believe in "Global warming" and feel guilty?
Discussion
Although I must say that I have always been a climate change sceptic (basically because I don't subscribe to government propaganda), I've had pangs of conscience at times having three v8s in the stable, and then using an Eco flex oil burning Insignia in the week to save up my "carbon miles" for the weekends etc.
No more!
I've just read a book called "Watermelons" by a guy called James Delingpole and I can recommend it to any of you guilt ridden V8 addicts (like me).
The V8 DD (daily driver) will be arriving next March!

Just remember that we will keep burning fossil fuels until they run out (or the World ends). So if it's not you in your V8, it'll be five Prius drivers burning that petrol. Being efficient just means it takes a tiny bit longer (in geological terms) for the same amount of carbon dioxide to be released into the atmosphere.
Maybe the book will make it onto my Crimbo list
And according to the current oil price, there's plenty of it.Maybe the book will make it onto my Crimbo list
Peak oil?.....my a*s.
Give the book a go Arnie and let me know what you think?

Work on the premise that everything the green lobby has ever said will happen hasn't and make your decision.
Enjoy your V8s.
That's rich from someone with a vested interest in the Warmist theory! I'd prefer to work on honest science with definitive empirical data rather than being manipulated by dishonest scientists, lying government and the rest of you people who have joined that gravy train!Enjoy your V8s.
If its really that important why are we wasting billions on a new train set to appease our European masters instead of building some state of the art nuclear power stations?
Your windmills are no answer to the needs of a growing population and cost us more than they need to. Especially on a calm day.

Yep they're going to keep going with the oil and gas until recovery is uneconomic. Our legislation is just a handy facilitator for that. They may reign back the coal a little if urban air pollution continues to rise unabated.
The climate is undoubtedly changing, it always has done, perhaps the trend to a wetter climate if not warmer climate is happening here.
Gore has increased his personal wealth at least 100 fold on the back of his climate crusade. Seems to be the case here too, with people who had power, or have been awarded power on the back of their shrewd and benevolent foresight, viewing this as an opportunity to line their pockets at astonishing speed in a highly distorted and abuse riddled 'green energy' system. The money to be made is staggering and is the main driving force behind these paternal saints, most of whom are in reality far more aggressive capitalists than any of us. Perhaps ignoring Ringram.
Too cynical? I've got a forest of 400 foot turbines and 130 acres of solar panels surrounding my house, all construsted on virgin grade 2 agricultual land and locked in at circa £750,000+ per annum rent, ignoring operator profits. The agricultural income from that area may have varied from £0 to about £45,000, depending on the growing season and market value. So long as we pay and obey we can be saved from this unfolding climate horror
