Stupid fuel tank relocation

Went to look at at very low mileage 56 plate monaro yesterday. All lovely until I opened the boot, eh, where's half the boot gone? Argh wasn't expecting that! Sorry old news, I'm sure, but boot capacity is quite important to me - humph. Was the original location for the fuel tank really that dangerous?

Vxr8 is probably the answer. It's just I'm a sucker for a coupe, don't know quite why. Disappointed as I had the maths all worked out.
