Local scrapyard had a monaro vxr in so I bought it from them to break for spares for my shed. Most of the really good stuff was gone - engine, seats, gearbox, front bumper, bonnet wrecked etc but it does still have all the glass, 2 good doors, brakes, suspension hub, bootlid, rear bumper (no use to me as I have an 04). Think I now know how to get the sills off but couple of things still proving challenging - the bonnet scoops - do they come off and if so how, someone asked me for them but I cant see how they are attached? I'm off to go remove a load more stuff from it today, diff, drive shafts, rear subframe, petrol tank etc (just for the fuel pump) so I might have more questions but if anyone can advise on the scoops that one more off my list.

GSD highlighted it on facebook which actually reminded me I was to go speak to the breaker about it, knew weeks ago it would be available at some point as he was finished with taking the engine and gearbox out for his BMW project car. Went to view it not thinking of buying it but for the money would have been kicking myself if I hadnt. Got a load of bits to fix, replace things on my own car or just to mess around with and got a good selection of spares to stick in my shed. GSD actually phoned to buy it while i was there taking it apart yesterday afternoon. Have told him and a few others that have enquired about parts of it that I'll do what I can to help them out at "mates" rates, if I can sell a few bits to cover the cost and be left with a stack of useful spares I'll be a happy camper. Was offered more for the whole car a few hours after I bought it but that would have been pointless, trying to gather a stock of spares so if I or any of the guys up here need a part they dont have too far to go. I may as Willie said have to buy a bigger shed though lol. Got a glass guy coming to cut out the windscreen and rear for me rather than risk making a mess of it myself, 20 quid a window seemed sensible. quarter panels I can cope with myself. rest of the car is proving a useful exercise in learning a lot of how these things go together.

Edit: should also have said thanks for the info on the scoops, was as simple as i thought it should be, didnt think to look behind other rubber plugs for more "pop" fittings
