Anything special I need to do? Will i lose any codes or anything?

You may lose radio station codes, but you won't lose anything from the BCM or PCM. smile
Cool. Thanks mate. Battery condition now dropped to 45%. 12.1v engine off. 14.7 engine running so assume alt is okay...

Cheers will get it done in the morning then.

BTW, local motor factors had one listed for the vxr8 - 100 AH.. one fitted is 72AH... he got it out, it was massive. Measured it, it was 35cm long. The tray is only 31cm max!
He had a quick look at the one fittd and came back out with the right size...

Is it a Varta battery that you have bought.
No, why do you ask?

Just asking that's all.

Mine and a few others have Varta batteries fitted and i believe some have the Bosch battery.

Which one did you get.
Probably the wrong one!
Its a tungstone titanium. 5 year guarantee. Been reading up on these silver batteries... seems you get a bit more CCA and better tolerance to high temps (not an issue in the UK!) Smart charging systems put out more voltage than regular alternators so the battery needs to be able to take the extra current without deteriorating.
5 year guarantee is a 5 year guarantee. Lets see what happens!

Nowhere can I see that a non silver battery has any detrimental effects on the car.

Wolfey, you need an 096 Silver.

That's it........
Went back to the motor factor.and explained the problem, upon noticing what car the battery was fitted to, the ph'er was more than happy to do a free exchange for the Bosch S5008.
ABS Stability Control still off though.. frown Do you normally have to wait for the bcm to read a full charge? Currently on 2%

It could be the wiring harness on the rear, wires brake inside.
i got one from Monkfish, swapt it out and problem went away.
yes been reading up on them - seems a lot have suffered from this.
ordered an OBD2 reader from tinternet to see what codes its thrown.

The auto box in manual mode keeps misbehaving as well whilst the abs is off... think I'll leave it in auto.
