Petrol fume smell in cabin

Monaro CV8 2005. When car is unopened for a while , there seems to be a build up of petrol fumes inside. There are no leaks of any sort from the tank or supply pipe underneath. Has anyone experienced this on their Monaro ?

Cheers guys, will try a new petrol cap

Well had the new petrol cap on now for a year and smell has come back . Spoken to Roger at MF and he says maybe the tank has rusted through ( ! ). Has anyone had this happen to them ? Seems a bit drastic.

Gonna push an endoscope in the tank to take a look, hopefully its something else. Maybe try an aftermarket cap if the tank looks OK.

Turns out to be corroded fuel line. All sorted .
