Hi all, just picked up my 2004 Monaro CV8. I've been 'lurking' on the forum for some background info before I bought one. Seems like a great forum. Looking forward to being part of the banter and hopefully can help out where I can. Cheers

Yes, there's a fair few, and more south of the river. We have a meeting on 19th Dec. at Surrey Rolling Road, with a social afterwards at a specialist dealer in Hampshire (Elite Cars) if you want to come along. smile

Damn, that sounds like a good day out but I've got a big family do going on. Doh. I'm sure there's more to come. The ace cafe Aussie day looks like a potential.

Good to see another tidy CV8 join the ranks... Any modification plans?
No mods really. Was thinking of a nostril bonnet but the more I look at it the more I like the clean look. Gotta change the head unit cos I 'need' iPod and also the display on it is dead. Maybe some tints as well. I'm more into detailing so for me just getting as good as I can paint finish, trim etc the centre console has wear and the carbon effect is showing through so need to tidy that up as well. Apart from that maybe some HIDs as the lights are shockingly poor (bless). Just got out of a Saab Areo with Xenons and I'm really missing them.

Welcome to the forum, lovely looking car. If you want to keep the interior looking standard, I am sure there will be some standard head units gathering dust in owners garages, you could then look at this option:

You will need to know someone who is very good with a soldering iron !

This is the way I went and it works perfectly.
Hi thanks, I did look at this option as I do like the std look. If my head unit was fully functioning then I'd have probably gone for it. To source a std head unit and then invest in the mod kit I can get myself a decent double din for much less.

Hi Richard . Glad you made it onto this forum. So sad reading a thread about this car not being mine! Hopefully it provides you with as many years trouble free motoring as it gave me. Be warned, the radiator will break the day before you sell the car though and undermine the premises of how trouble free mechanically the car has been for you.lol

Look forward to reading any update threads, and thanks to you and your sister for making it a pleasant and trouble free sale.
Hi Andrew. She's running fine mate. How's the hunt for a VXR going.?
