Depreciation

Perhaps a thorny topic but let's see where we go from here.

Have I got my perceptions right to start with;

Vauxhall VXR's depreciate at the worst initial rate
The Vauxhall basic Monaro is next
Then the Holden V8's
and the "pukka" HSV variants are the best.

But all the cars seem to level off and don't go a lot lower unlike monster 4x4 V8's (X5, Range Rover etc) which seem to continue to plummet in value all the time.

Is that about right?

If so, what surprises me is that the Vauxhall VXR is a premium car in a known (to the UK) brand and so I would have expected them to fair a bit better.

Any thoughts on the whole deal?
