Damn well there had to be a first time for a fault.....

Today I pressed my boot release button (CV8 Monaro) and the boot didn't open.

There's a mechanical noise like something is trying to happen but the boot is clamped shut.
There's no keyhole. Or anything else.
I tried the boot release switch in the glovebox. Not opening.
Again mechanical whirring but boot remains locked.

Any idea's?
How is anyone even gonna get into it?

Thanks in advance.....

Well just resurrecting this thread to let everyone know that the problem has been figured out.

Seems the small metal double cable attachment loop thingy in the lock has snapped so the cable that pulls the lock open when the electric motor engages after pressing boot release button is attached to nothing!

This double loop has one loop for the auto boot release and the other for the manual pull tab behind the headrest, hence why neither worked.

Wanted to let everyone know in case I'm the first.
Hopefully none of you will suffer the same but best to post it just incase.

Now my number 1 homies at AAS have a full spare pontiac GTO boot lid so I think I'm either gonna use the bottom panel to replace the one they are gonna drill through OR maybe just use the whole GTO boot lid complete with spoiler!!!!!!

What say ye people of hsv forum????

Keep it looking standard CV8 or get the Pontiac GTO spoiler on???????

Well the one from my picture is the one from the GTO the AAS guys have got!

Another question is how much of an effect does a rear spoiler actually have on a monaro?
Is it useful for traction at real world speeds or only at high speeds?
