Took the T350 out yesterday, got stuck in some traffic and the water temp went up! up, up, up! to 105 - 110 at times. The LCD indicated i had 'water sensor fault'... hmmm...

plenty of water in there and the rad is fine and the fans on the rad are fine too... anyone else get silly readings yesterday? (the oil temp was up in the 90's too)...

i wonder if the uprated alloy rad keeps things a bit cooler in the hot weather?

i will check at what point they both kick in. i have seen both fans running well below 98, when i was adding oil yesterday, i noticed that they both kicked in around the 83/84 mark...

...however, i think the alloy rad might be worth investing in at some point...

That's also something else i need to get round to doing - fixing the heat-resistance gear level...

i guess these cars arent really designed to sit in blistering heat all day doing 5 mph!

Have you tried water wetter in the rad. Its helped on my cerb and my T350, it also helps to avoid hot spots in the rads.

Would the coolant type make a difference at all?

Obviously don't ignore a reading of 110deg C though - it could be serious!
So what's the most serious scenario then? What would the worst cast be?

Get it sorted by someone who knows what they are doing - dealers that tell you 109 is ok?? not sure I would be parting with my hard eraned cash there, not with advice like that kicking about.
Completely agree, will get it looked into, hopefully just a sensor issue, but advice to get it checked is very wise.
