As you can see from the photographs there is heat damage to one of the sockets; there is also evidence of heat damage where the black wire enters the plug.

Does anyone know if an aftermarket plug is available that i can wire in?

thanks

I have one bob, let me have your address again & I will post it to you. You buy them from RS but they have a minimum order of £20 which buys quite a few sets (they also sell the pins and the board plugs)

I have moved mine by extending the wires when I replaced the plug so I can sit it in the heater vent to keep it cool. The wires are a bit thin for the current it has to handle.

Shep
Andy, i am as ever indebted to you!

I've had the same problem in the past and couldn't source the right connector, glad they are available!

I've got a different problem with mine now. The connector block on the circuit board has been snapped off frown a passenger on a track day used his feet to brace himself and inadvertently put a lot of pressure on the connector (it was poorly located obviously) which pretty much snapped the connector off of the circuit board frown

Do you have any of these available? Or know where I can get one? I tried bodging it but it isn't making a good connection unfortunately.

I don't want to have to shell out £120 for a new heater amplifier when it is just the connector!

Thanks!
If it's the part i think you're referring to, I replaced mine last year as the pins were also showing heat damage - Graham Varley supplied me a refurbished one in exchange for mine plus a cash (considerably less than £120)

PM him, he may have another

Okay to bring this thread to a conclusion.

I bought a replacement trinary switch(?) from Graham Varley at Chatsworth in April 2011, this improved matters, but still not right, then did bog all for 2 years, but that's me.

Resurrected the issue in April this year and Shep was straight in with help supplying me a new plug.

Today i watched Kevin63 remove the old plug and wire in the new one, it now works perfectly.

Thanks chaps, really appreciate the help thumbup
