Before I bought my second Tamora, I was convinced that simply owning it was enough to sate my appetite. I had planned from the start to have a complete interior re-trim, complete with decent ICE and sat nav, and the icing on the cake would be the 4.3 upgrade and Nitrons. This, I thought would make it the perfect Tamora for me.

However, the more I think about the upgrades, the more I want, and it's very difficult to be reasonable with myself once I get an idea in my head.

Not only do I now want the 4.3, but I also want a CR box and new LSD to go with it - then I spotted you could buy carbon propshafts, too! I know I don't 'need' one, but I do 'want' one - not only that, I 'want' the Sag/Tuscan S front brake upgrade - and the ACT carbon airbox for when the engine is upgraded, and possibly the cam cover changed, too - it's never ending!

Anyone else the same, or is it just me....?

I am stone cold sure that if every single item was changed/upgraded, there would still be something else you would want to tinker with....

(ETA - not saying I can afford it all, just more about the mentality of never being 100% happy and wanting more, no matter how much one spends...)

I seem to be very easily distracted by diff ratio posts at the moment....3.73...mmmm
hehe

I think a big part of my, or our 'wants' is derived from reading these damned forums - someone posts about cool stuff he/she has had done and tells us how great it is, I then want it, too!

True, i'll make sure to post a pic of the steering wheel, once Dave has finished my seats :P

Save Chris and I, someone, we need help!
hehe

I have noticed that wheel is now at a very tempting price here:

But I don't want it.....much....

I reckon I am now 100% happy - there is nothing I would want to change or modify.
...Until you find you have a half-Penny sized patch of surface rust on one of the outriggers - which then requires (naturally) a complete chassis replacement.. hehe

Your car is epic Simon………

For the OP….Chris don’t take a drive out with Simon it will make things a lot worse.
hehe

I think I'll wait 'till the engine's upgraded. I suppose any money spent on the car after this is small change by comparison.

I work with carbon composite materials in the aircraft industry, a carbon lay up for a prop would be very susceptible to impact damage not ideal would look nice!
I used the carbon propshaft in the theme of 'wants' because it's a perfect illustration of wanting what you didn't even know existed for the car, or need (and I have only come across them when upgrading my cars in Gran Turismo..)

presently going through my biggest update so far. Not had the car for a couple of months and will not get it back for a couple of months, exciting times.
I think that upgrading the car is a more exciting experience than actually buying it in the first place. Part of that is the fact that, not only are you making it better than standard, but you're making it you're own, and it becomes very personal to you. IMOHO anyway...

After 11 years my paint work is a little weathered and my leather worn with spiders that need a referb but she has Power 4.3 and Nitrons and goes like the wind so I like to drive! Upgrades are not needed and a less than perfect car wants to be pushed hard. She's not a princess or a beauty queen but I love her.
TBH, If I had gone for the 4.3 and Nitron upgrade first, I know that all else would take second stage and could wait, as driving the car is what counts. I am sure I would have the same sentiments as you.

However, I have to wait at least another 8 months before considering the 4.3 upgrade, and in the meantime, I am working on sorting everything else I can on the car, so that the 4.3 will be the icing on the cake. I also know that if I drove yours, I would want the 4.3 now...hehe

Yup, but it is easy to get a bit carried away... whistlepaperbag
I know - got very carried away with my wife's MG - couldn't stop and ended up spending around £12k on what is essentially a £3k max car! (But the upgrades were to aid longevity, performance, handling and reliability) as my wife never wants to sell it...

Oh, and I just ended up buying this...

Well, since my last post on this thread, I have spent a stupid amount on my Tam - re-trim, 4.3, ACT big bore exhaust, the list goes on.

yet - I still cannot get that ACT CF airbox (which I haven't got) out of my head..

Dammit!
