One of the other jobs on the 'Str8six List' was to change the battery as the wrong one was fitted.

So I purchased one on-line and, according to their parts checker, a Yuasa YBX 3086 was duly delivered to me.

Went to fit yesterday and it doesn't fit. It's too long as far as I can determine and it won't 'drop' into the tray.

Does anyone know if the above battery is the right one? I have e-mailed Yuasa UK and await their response. However, I suspect a TVR owner may know sooner. Anyone fitted a Yuasa battery and know the model number?

Yuasa 069/072 battery does not fit unless you want to try stretching your Positive battery lead, or fabricate and install a new longer one. The reason being the terminals are swapped compared to the original tamora battery. This extra effort maybe worthwhile if you wish to make the installation safer and avoid positive terminal shorting out on engine heatshielding or tubular chassis.
I ended up with a Yuasa YBX3000 '069' battery. My cables were long enough to fit either way round. Battery fitted fine. However, I'm pretty certain the positve was on the 'inside'.
