Having taken the battery out of my car I have looked at the wiring which is not in a great condition so I am going to replace most if not all of it with new cable. Is standard flexible battery cable good enough to withstand the heat from the exhaust or does it need to be high temp stuff?

Does anyone make a pattern part for the heat shield by the battery box or do I need to cut it and make it up myself? In either case does anyone know a good place to get the heat shield material from?

Is there any good reason not to bring the 100A fuse that is attached (or not in my case) to the battery box area the other side of the bulkhead along with the 100A fuse that runs the fuse box thus saving having to remove front wheel etc if it blows?

Thanks for your help in advance folks!

Thanks for the reply Shep.

The heat shield I am referring to is not for the cables but the silver matting stuff that is separating the exhausts and the battery area. Mine is oily and frayed so i was going to replace it while I am tidying things up. I am not describing it all very well tonight so I will take a pic next time I'm under there!

My Anderson connector has already been moved to the engine bay next to the power steering relay.

Do you know of anywhere to get wiring diagrams of the Tam?
