Hi Guys, Gals,

I intended to take the Sagaris down to Bleinhiem Castle today but for the first time in 7 years of ownership she let me down and would not start. Its trying to turnover but is slow and won't fire into life then dies completely.

Owing to the birth of our little boy, the cars hasn't been used a great deal at all over the past two years - between the scarce usage I have kept it on a battery trickle charger in the garage.

The trickle charger is showing as charging but voltage reading inside the car is not getting above 12.8 volts. When fully charged, I think it reads 13.5 volts.

Should the car still turnover and start at 12.6 to 12.8 volts? If not then I guess its a new battery, if so then would the best guess be either the battery to starter motor connection or the starter motor itself?

Any help before I start to take a look would be much appreciated as always

Cheers

As shep1001 said. The car will be fine on jump start. Erm.... That's why the Anderson connector's there. I've had to jump mine numerous times in the first year of ownership because of a knackered battery and it sounded like a similar issue to yours.

On a advisory note and I know it's difficult for you at the moment but you need to get out and use the car . Even if it's say up to mum and dads or what ever. The speed six doesn't like been ideal for long periods.

Cheers all. I won't bother trying to jump it, its in the garage and I'll struggle to run a set of jump leads from another car to the Anderson's - I will just take the battery out and get it tested. I assume its a simple job but are there any TVRism's I should know about??!!

Hear what you say about using more often - it is my intention. I bought a Recaro baby seat and took the little one out in it a coupe of weeks ago so the car should be getting a lot more you use from now on!

Again, cheers all
