Well, finally happening!
After years without a TVR, I'm coming back. Went back to old fords for a while, Capri's and escorts etc.
But permission granted, funds available and now back with a bang. Wanted a Sagaris since I first saw one and now its happening. Not decided which one yet, gotta try them all out.
Any out there I should avoid??? (dodgy history)
I want a standard one, not played with, definitely not a green interior, prefer black. Not worried on colour. Its going to be a keeper though, I intend to not get shot of.
Got best insurance estimate from classicline - any good as an insurer?
In a very happy place right now lol smile

Yep seen them. Gonna try to get to see those, 2 in fernhurst and mole valley in a row one day soon. As they are all fairly close.
Unfortunately, budget wont stretch to that. As it is, to get permission, a capri and escort have to go. Too many 'ornaments' she calls them

Yep, looked and read about the black one. I have no problem if fixed right, but I dont think black suits a Sag, or green interior. So not a lot of point if needs colour change in and out. I honestly dont mid CAT d if repaired properly and owner is honest about it and it is priced accordingly. Problem with bashed cars is people buy them bashed and cheap, then repair them and forget they should still be cheap (around a third off book price I thought), but they want top money for them still, which is wrong. I think thats a problem with prices, people are looking as 'investments', even dealers advertising them as that. They are cars, the whole point of TVR was affordable quick, bonkers looking cars I thought. I want one to drive and have fun in, all my cars have that and are taken out all the time.
Originally looked at T350t, but wasnt massively impressed. I like the T350, I am just not sure about the nose on it, looks a bit porker/griffith love child. Same as Tam not sure about rear. Seems to work in some colours (I also got told this so I am not mad in thinking the colour makes it look ok! lol).
But the Sag has always drawn me.

Its the same with the old fords, they command crazy money now. Even parts are crazy. That scrappage scheme was the stupidest thing ever created in this country and I hope whoever invented it gets run over by an old car.

But back to Sags, I quite like the red glow one at bespoke and the guys there (martin/skip) seem friendly enough. Cant seem to find any info on here about that one though. Some nice low mileage ones, but not too sure on them. As if anything I learnt from my cars, they like to be used, leave em lying around and they start to go wrong as soon as you start to use them again, so these low milers may be more problematic later. Is this correct with these?
As for the topgear one commanding top money, is this right? Should it be that expensive? High mileage and video proof its been thrown around a track. You just know even in topgear alone it had a few offs, but they edit that out. In my mind that makes it worth much less?? All the press would have treated worse than a renter as well.
Ideally looking for some pointers in the history of some of the cars listed for sale on here. Been warned that the international ones have a ropey past. Also read on here about it too.

I got no problem with CAT D as long as priced appropriately. But black and green a no go for me. I cannot even remotely dream of silver car with a green interior? But thats just me, I am not a fan of green. Army green maybe.... lol(exterior). Maybe I'm boring, I want a grey or black interior. Out side can be as crazy as anything though.
Again no problem with owners, Generally cars get the most loving and £££ spent on them in the first and last month of ownership. So a few owners means had a lot of love. Where as one owner could just treat it bad from beginning to end. You just have no idea really, cos no one will ever say 'yeah, mines crap I treat it bad' will they. Swings and roundabouts.
As for Sags though, is a rebuilt engine imperitive? Is it as required as it is for a 2000 speed6?

Hi T4ngo - My understanding is that the black car at HHC is not Cat D, it's just a colour change car. I sold it to the careless driver when it looked like this http://www.tvr-mads.co.uk/YJ05AVN.html (and he had come in, wanting to buy a black Saggy). The green interior does perhaps look naff in the photos, but I think actually really really works in the flesh.

I use to own the red glow car http://www.tvr-mads.co.uk/T12SAG.html you mention at Bespoke. (Looking at the price I sold it for, I wish I still did.) And I also owned one of the Fernhurst cars http://www.tvr-mads.co.uk/SP05DDJ.html which was (and I assume still is) lovely.
You sound like just the person I need to speak to!
How come you've had som many sags? get bored quickly lol

Well, done the deal and shaken on it. Left a deposit and ready in a couple of weeks for me. Very happy bounce

Went for the Red Glow one. I'm happy with the deal, and that's all that matters really.

Very happy with Bespoke so far, very much went out of their way, even came in on a Sunday, moved the cars around to get it on a ramp for me at my request.

There can only be one colour choice given your PistonHeads name.......
I did seriously consider an orange one. But negotiation was not going to be agreed in a million years. Car was great, but sale wasn't going to happen.

Old fords are investments not ornaments. If I'd kept every old ford I'd had in the last 25yrs I'd be very rich! Frustratingly I now can't afford one even if I sold my Tuscan!!
Anyway I can't comment on others but Mole Valley sell some very high quality cars.
Tell me about it. Parts are getting stupid prices nowadays. Cars are too (good ones)

Anyways, deal done and signed. Car being serviced, taxed and MOT'd as we speak.

Picking up on Friday. Only 4 sleeps to go! lol biggrin

Finally someone bought it smile Respectable price, looks lovely. Just needs a bit of paintwork doing and a few other cosmetic elements and jobs a goodun! Bespoke are a good outfit, and Skip, Graham and Martin will look after you with the warranty smile
Yep. Looking around to find the front splitters and a rear cover now, fortunately I'm a painter so cosmetics are insignificant and will be painted completely soon anyway. Just waiting till find some at right price. If I tell the mrs I need to spend more I think I'll lose a nut lol

Done a few miles lol. Man, are these hard to fill up or what! Stood there at the pump for ages.
Also the steering lock on them sucks. 12 point turns in order.

But apart from that bounce

Didn't go for the matte cascade Indigo then frown
Still trying to make a decent one. Cant get as vivid a colour shift as I want yet. So in meantime it was a choice of silver pearl over white or a variation of cobalt blue. Not seen a white sag before so went for that. Prob do the blue in a month or so lol. Unless I get success on the cascade indigo

Not as brave as you think lol. Takes about an hour and a half to peel it all off, and its back to original smile

Yeah, depends on car size, colour it is and colour you wanna go to . but generally couple hundred for materials. you can get cheap chinese copies, but as with anything, the copies aren't anywhere as near as real deal or i'd sell them instead.
Durability is fine. I had for 2 years on my capri and used for track days, santa pod and as a runaround no problems with it. still peeled fine after 18 months

Its predominately matte. Hence matt-pack. But there is a glossifier you can add to make shiny. Not full oem gloss, but shiny, as its rubber. My sagaris is a satin finish. So in the middle. Yeah got email. Will reply in bit more detail later. Been training people today how to use it properly, so gotten a bit behind with emails etc..
