Having lived with taped up holes in my rear screen for the past couple of years it is definitely new roof time. (As there is now a big tear in it across the back.)

I think I am on my third screen and they always go in the same place - just behind the struts where there is a funny fold in the perspex.

Does anyone know who can supply a roof with this type of narrower screen fitted?

(Burghley last year)

It looks like it will fold in a much neater way and presumably will last longer. I can live with marginally worse roof up visibility.

Thanks.

The Surrey roof looks interesting too, but I'm going to do the hood and recover the hardtop first.

I hadn't realised the rear window size was optional. In the past they have just been replaced as is.

You appear to have missed the point of mentioning Cambria Cirrus
I guess I did. Does it work?

When it is up you only really use the bit between the seats as a window. Mine is normally down too which is why they keep wearing out. The issue is trying to fold a curve. It doesn't work so kinks to a point. Narrower should be much neater.

Thanks Buzz. Craig gave me a Blackpool address but I haven't heard back from an email. Huddersfield would be more convenient.

On my Chim,i used to put a rolled up towel on the rear window when it was down.It stopped the kinking.Don't know if it works on the Tam,haven't put the rear down yet.
I have tried that but it doesn't really stop the kink and is a bit of a faff.

I have also heard tales of towels exiting at speed.

Shep - can you post the width of your screen, please.

Thanks.

Hi Bob.

I had it all arranged at John the trimmer in Blackpool. Unfortunately my Dad then had a heart attack which obviously took precedence. He's on the mend now though so I'm going to rebook in the spring.

Will post pics when I get it done. Could be the longest new roof thread ever.

Oh - on the other hand I can highly recommend Gorilla flexible tape. It is still doing a sterling job of holding the two halves of screen together. 😀
