Hello - New Tamora Owner
Discussion
Hello, I picked my new Tamora up yesterday from NL and drove back via Eurotunnell 333miles. I have been after one ever since I sat in it at the Motorshow! It had to be Yellow to go with my Chimaera.
Thanks to all the previous owners who confirmed all the history and filled in the gaps. It's lovely being part of the TVR family

I flew my mechanic over with me so we completed a fairly comprehensive assessment of the car. I really can't believe how easy it is to import a car from the EU.
Engine compression looks good, chassis was good. Spotted a leaky shock so probably going with Nitron's as part of getting it sorted. New headlights going in to replace the LHD ones & new MOT being done today (fingers crossed!)
Interior leather on dash & center section is a bit tired so will get that sorted, Seats have already been recovered in black leather.
Paint work is good, although on the ramp the front splitter underneath needs a bit of touching up.
New Wheels & tyres and Clutch already fitted.
Engine rebuild was at 18,000 miles, now on 35,000 miles with FSH and all MOTs
Its a lot different to drive to the Chimaera and I think I will grow to like it, will be asking some questions about upgrades
It was a great price & even with all the above will be a good fun investment for the future.
Hope to be at Burley with it if the DVLA are quick

I noticed someone selling new pedals which were arched over at the top, are these just cosmetic or do they serve a purpose, reason I ask is I found my right shoe catching the brake pedal when accelerating a few times on the trip home. Also has anyone with long legs moved their pedal box further back, did this make any difference? I liked the seats and felt fine after the 333 mile trip home, but I am sure a few changes could make it even better to drive.

How did you find it in the Netherlands? A google search doesn't throw up much as all the websites are written in clogs.
The advert was on here for around 10 hours, I put a deposit down pretty quick to secure it as I have been looking for a yellow one for nearly 2 years. Main reason is I don't have to change my ph user name lolLatest Update on my Tamora
Well I thought this thread deserved an update after 6+ months.
So far the following has been completed...........
T66 TVR Reg fitted
New 3.6L Engine fitted by STR8SIX inc Crank etc, (only thing we saved was the block!) (100,000mile Warranty)
Engine Mounts
Speed Sensor
Blue ACT Hoses
Chrome water pipes
Blue powder coated head cover
Nitron's fitted
Diff Bushes replaced
Wishbones painted and new Bushes fitted
ARB Drop links replaced
Power Steering Motor replaced
Brakes 304mm (waiting to be fitted)
New Battery fitted
Pedal Box moved forwards
Headlights replaced to RHD
Fog and reversing lights swapped
Side Windows adjusted
Gearbox Fully Rebuilt (3rd/4th Synchro)
Centre Console replaced with a black leather one.
Turns out the car was already de-catted, but passed the MOT!!!
Shes still being run in and a few hundred miles to go before I can open the taps.
I knew she would need some TLC and potentially an engine rebuild, some of which was built into the purchase price. Overall I am happy that I now have a cracking motor which certainly is rare and hopefully will start to rise in value with time. Although I am not looking to sell anytime soon
Looking forward to getting out and about in 2016 a bit more than I did in 2015, as shes been off the road so much of this year.
Cheers,
Jon

You have a good looking car there but I would say that as it's almost identical to mine
I'm thinking of getting mine decatted is it worth it ? I don't want more power as I think its powerful enough I just pops and bangs
Hi, it's very loud artillery fire with the occasional Morter round when you least expect it and that's only using 3000rpm. It's had a power exhaust fitted which helps with the noise. Out of interest when was yours registered? Mine was the TMS demonstrator so quite an early one registered 13/11/01. I guess yours was earlier?I'm thinking of getting mine decatted is it worth it ? Would be good to get them together at meet, next year some time. Are you on FB?

I very very nearly bought this Tam back in 2014. I flew over to Holland to meet Corno and some of his local TVR crew. I decided against as there was a little too much work for me.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I am pleased you didn't buy it, as I love it and had been searching for a yellow one or 2 years.a1butch said:
It was definitely a tough call for me. At the time (and it seems now a never ending story) I didn't have the time or resources needed to put into the car.
Looks great though, when you decide to sell let me know!
Hi, yes its needed a lot to get it up to scratch, nearly there! Its a keeper next to the Chimaera which I've had 14 years already.Looks great though, when you decide to sell let me know!
Cheers,
Jon
Just thought I would update this thread with some pics.
My Tamora was resprayed by S&D and I had a new interior & hood installed by D&C Trim as well as new Audio/phone/speakers.
I have been invited to display her at a number of events, including the NEW TVR launch at Goodwood. I am often updating facebook, but thought it was only right that I updated my original thread on here.
Enjoy the pics, cheers Jon
