Steering feels 'notchy' when first started, pump?

I have noticed that the steering feels a little notchy when turning when backing out of the garage, could this be the steering pump? If it is I shall buy a new one before I go to Cornwall next month. (Decided against Italy, French borders seem like a war zone right now...)

ETA - Fluid is on the Max marker on the reservoir..

Cheers guys, have ordered a pump anyway, as the one on the Tam is now 13 years old..
