Repair or Replace ECU?

The short story is that the ECU has been causing problems again (this time throwing up incorrect crank sensor faults).

This is about the 3rd time in two years that the ECU has been a pain. so the question is:

should I send the ECU away again? (about £2-300 each time)

or should I buy a new / upgraded ECU?

and if I buy a new ECU, which one should I go for? (bare in mind that I don't want to spend over £2000 for the racing ECUs)

All thoughts welcome, preferably related.

Have tried 3 crank sensors, the fault still re-appears. have checked connections and wiring aswell.

The ECU repair depends on what needs to be done, but the last couple of times it has been around that mark.

I occasionally get a crank sensor fault when I fire her up connected to the diagnostics, if I clear it and re-start the diagnostics it shows no fault. Unless its causing poor running I would ignore it, never bothered me & mine still hasn't gone bang in the last 7 years

It is causing poor running.
