Hi guys!

Finally got my Sag back with all the little niggles sorted, the carbon canister on the fuel tank decided to break on my fourth day of ownership, but never mind! Loving life right now.
Today I went out on a long drive 320ish miles all through the country side In convoy with an Elise.... He had the sat nav so was following most of the way. Not because he was quicker wink

The Day obviously had to be finished off with a nice soapy bath for the sag.... Well I knew it would get chips, and I know the colour shows the chips but my god eek

I need to get the front wrapped urgently. I'm thinking a thick black wrap just on the front horseshoe and winglets. It needs some protection ASAP. Has anyone done this and can you recommend me someone decent please.

Here's a pic ??

Firstly put a cheap wrap on there for the rest of the summer.

Then in the winter get the chips treated, and a decent film on the from when the paint has properly cured....
That's a good idea to be honest... Do you have any recommendations please?

I would use an Avery gloss black film on there. Supreme cast would be the way to go for the small front end.

Definitely recommend give Totally Dynamic in north London a call, they are without doubt the best in the business and Scott will do you a very fair deal. I don't have an interest in this however I owned a Totally Dynamic wrapping centre a few years back and they are top. PM me if you want more info
Thank you mate - will give them a call tomorrow. I'm gutted to say the least, I can not believ how easily these cars chip.

Did those chips happen from one drive out? If so then don't follow so closely. I found my T350 picks up many less chips now I drop back a bit and only come close to slower cars when actually overtaking. Of course one gritting lorry and you're toast frown
Yes one drive out... I was following but I was keeping a long distance back! Just crazy how easily they chip I'm worried the paint seal/laquer isn't up to standard

Doesn't sound right to me. Yes you do get an odd chip but certainly not every journey. What was it like before you set off?
It had four stone chips on it... Now it has 000s I'll post more photos when I get home tonight. It's horrific

Who the fkkkk puts a soft top coat on! I'm not a happy man right now! Decided not to take it out this evening! Not good. I'm getting the front double layer wrapped in gloss black up to the second bonnet slit and then run it down in front of the front wheels...

So everyone is in agreement that the level of stone chips is excessive... Can anyone suggest a course of action - I've only had the car in my person for 7 days now, it had a full respray late last year. Thanks guys always a great help

Front end respray?

Any idea how comprehensive the full respray last year?

I had the T350 resprayed (it's black, so stone chips are very noticable) 12 months ago and I made sure stated that it should be heavily resistant to stone chips - not sure if they did much difference but it "seems" thicker than the previous paint (hard to put into words what "seems" means - maybe it sounds different when knocked or maybe a thicker top coat)..

I allowed them weeks to do the work (and the car sat for most of last year on SORN) - so maybe the painted cured / dried harder before it got any road, cleaning, etc.

Do recommend leaving a gap between yourself and the car infront too smile
I left a huge gap the whole journey for exactly this reason.

I'm getting the paint and top coat measured this week. To see how thin the pain is.

Most good paint shops give a guarantee so I’d find out who did it and contact them in the first instance.

BTW, what was your petrol smell problem in the end?
I will speak to the old owner about the warranty they gave. The Petrol smell was caused by a Broken carbon canister and then it was also made worse by a hose not attached properly when it was put back together after said re-spray.

So sorry to see this on your lovely car, it's not right that it's chipped as bad as that after 1 trip out, deffo something not right there, hope you sort it soon as summer is here and it needs driving
It does need driving - but I'm not at the minute, scared to do more damage and think I always will be now. It's definitely not right as everyone has said here, even the tiniest of grains has caused pin point chips it's a joke.

Good news, thought any decent paint shop would be happy to correct.

Hope you can now start to enjoy the car as you haven't had the best start to Sagaris ownership!
Very good news.... No I haven't but every time I get in and drive it I forget about all the problems. Incredible thing.
