I think it was Tony doing a subtle topic change to my knobs that I ordered Or maybe the OPs knobs.
Wouldn't be mine; I still have the OEM style knobs although I do have a set of Tony's excellent sill plaques. The only thing I wish was different about the knobs he sells is if he could make the light shine through it so you could see there position in low light conditions. CraigV12V said:
Karl, can you give a layman some clue as to what settings you are using to create the finish you have achieved in these cool photos. Is there for instance a filter on the camara?
There is no filter on the camera and the pictures are not really manipulated in Photoshop other than for a slight sharpening. The technique involves using very powerful studio strobe lighting with strip bank softboxes. You also have to stop down your lens to the point where the only light hitting the sensor is coming from the strobes and not from ambient lighting. You cannot accomplish this kind of look with your typical on-camera flash or speedlight because they simply aren't powerful enough.

I love this pic, it's one sexy ass , I like the way the diffuser is slightly highlighted
Thanks. When I installed the diffuser on my car, I did something a little different: I used a bright aluminum fine mesh instead of the black larger mesh that AM usually puts on the N420. I think the bright finish draws your eyes to the diffuser more, making it a more noticeable showpiece. I think it also matches the clear taillights better.Jockman said:
One thing those photos are not showing up KF is your ventureshield or its US equivalent.
Do you have it? Has it been edited out? Have you edited any blemishes? Is your paintwork really that good?
I don't have Ventureshield in my car, only the standard helicopter tape on the rear of the sills and leading edge of the rear wheel wells. I now have slightly over 20K miles on my car and, yes, the paint really does look that good—one of the benefits of having a garage to shield the car from sun and rain every day. We also have no snow to deal with and very good roads here. I have maybe 2 or 3 minuscule paint chips around 1mm in the front that have been filled with Dr. Chip (Chipex) but they don't show up in the pictures due to my lighting. Heck, they are bare noticeable to the naked eye. Do you have it? Has it been edited out? Have you edited any blemishes? Is your paintwork really that good?
