Dear All

As a lot of you may know we had a ‘Bacon Butty’ morning in March of this year at Trinity Engineering and opened our doors to Pistonheads contributors to come and see what we do servicing and restoring primarily with the older Aston Martins from 1950’s-1990’s. It was a great day and we really enjoyed having everyone here.

As a company every year we organise an event to raise money for Headley Court which is based in Surrey near Leatherhead and is the rehabilitation centre for injured and wounded soldiers coming back from conflicts. The guys and girls are generally in quite a bad way when they are first admitted and having spoken to many servicemen and women who have benefited from being there, Headley Court really does piece them back together and not just physically.

Last year with a family open day here at Trinity and contributions from customers and AMOC members alike we managed to raise £9,600 which was enough money to fund a special assessment unit and tranquillity garden within the Hospital for when soldiers are first admitted and the realisation of their injuries hits home.

This year we are going to have another ‘Bacon Butty’ morning on Saturday the 20th October but this time there will be an entry charge of £10 for adults and £5 for children under 10 years old. All of the money raised will be going directly to Headley Court to purchase Ipads for the brain injured. At Headley Court they have seen marked improvements in brain activity from the stimulation generated by certain apps and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible to purchase as many Ipads as contributions allow.

The event will be notified to AMOC members, customers and across various forums and we would like to see as many people as possible here to support a very worthwhile cause. Last year we had 285 people attend the open day but the one target I would like to achieve is 100 cars in attendance. It would be a fantastic sight and one worthy of getting the local press involved. If you would like to come along please email Anne my office manager at anne@trinityastonmartin.co.uk to confirm how many in your party will be attending. This will enable us to cater accordingly.

Thanks everyone and I hope you will be able to come.

We are up to fifty odd people coming now so its getting there. I am sure there are a few more of you that would like to come though?

We are trying to get some of the lads from Headley Court to come down so if anyone wants to take them out in a car it would make it a real experience them. It would be something few of them would ever get the opportunity to do.

We plan to start at around 9.30am and I imagine most people will stay until around 1.00pm. That will give everyone a chance for a Butty cooked by Mrs B, a coffee and a look at whats in the workshop.

You don't have to be an Aston owner to turn up, just a car nut!

Hi Marcel

We have you on the list so worries there.

Anne is sinking under AMOC/Trinity stuff at the moment as we are organising another three events at the same time.

Dear All

All I would like to say is a huge thankyou to everyone that turned up to help raise money. The weather didnt start off that great with the morning mist but when it cleared it was a glorious day.

We had expected just over 100 people but in the end it was over 160 and my poor PA, Anne and Mrs B cooked nearly 200 bacon and sausage buttys!

As you know the event was to raise money to purchase Ipads for Headley Court. Not only were TWO Ipads donated but enough money was put in the bucket to purchase another five of them. It will make a massive difference to the rehabilitation team at Headley and I know they would want me to pass on their thanks also.

There were some fabulous cars turned up from a 1950's DB2/4 to Tony's DBS and virtually every model in between with too many names to mention. I dont know the exact number but I beleive in the region of 70 cars arrived and what a sight it was. So on behalf of Me and my guys at Trinity, thank you for making it a great day all round.

Lastly my thanks to the Webmaster at PH for allowing this post to run.
