....so if you check my posts and this forum you'll know about the notorious Gaydon bubble issue

Mines got it BAD

The garage say £3000 worth of paint job required. Aston offer a pathetic £250

Today I called aston to discuss it with them. Not one legal person is in attendance and three calls later they're still trying to find someone from legal who. knows about my legal claim and can discuss this

What a joke company. Remind me to NEVER buy an Aston again.

I love my DB9. I HATE ASTON!

Cummon everyone join me in a class action suit. Or at least bombard Aston head office with YOUR complaints re the Gaydon bubble cars.

FAR from turning it into a positive for them, they're entrenching their position and batting down the hatches. They really are disgusting and quite pathetically disorganised. A disgrace of a company for sure

Thx. I'm unfamiliar with this approach. Are you aware of other Aston owners going down this route J?

Having taken mine to a well established and highly recommended independent, his view was my car could have been re-spayed in the area affected. (Mine is where the side strakes join the bodywork, trailing edge). Side strake then put back on, whilst pain was soft, causing it to bubble.

Have no reason to dis-believe him. So, the question for all the owners of second hand cars with paint bubbling, are you 100% sure the affected area has not been resprayed prior to you owning it?
In my case one small area would be a respray. 90% is NOT!

After reading this http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I am beginning to wonder if perhaps you're not helping yourself with (repeated) comments like that?

I'm not in customer service thankfully, but if I was, I'd be thinking 'screw that guy, what's the point'...

Thankyou for proving you have no understanding of this issue.

We seem to have lost focus here gentlemen.
As I understand it this paint / preperation/corrosion is an issue that is common to many Astons over the past 7 years.
Indeed my car had a similar problem that was dealt with by the dealer before I agreed to purchase the car.
So in theory Aston Martin have a responsibility to their customers.
I take the point that if they honour their commitment to provide a product that is suitable for purpose it would cost them bundles but that does not mean they should disown the problem or treat the customer with disdain.
Aston Martin at least should offer to repair the corrosion and respray for free or at least only charge a nominal sum say £500.
It should not be treated in the same way as a wear and tear problem which it does not appear to be.
Aston know of the problem so do their dealers they just refuse to honour their own warranty. Despicable Their attitude suks a big one

I tried that. I suggested you change your attitude; you got stroppy. Tarks got his car sorted quickly by being a reasonable customer; he then got a reasonable response from the vendor.

There is always an attitude test, be it a car dealer, a policeman or anyone who has you in their thrall. You, sir, are failing it massively.

That your paintwork is shoddy is not in any doubt. That it's Aston's fault, well we're pretty sure it is. Is the dealer interested in helping you, when others have been helped in the same circumstances... nope.

You can keep typing 'despicable, disgraceful, embarrassing' until the cows come home, but it's not helping you. Try a different tack. That's my contribution to the thread. My contribution to the forum... hmmm, that's another matter.
Funny you ignore the DOZENS of posters across the various threads who got screwed by Aston. It's got diddly to do with attitude matey and everything to do with aston not honouring their warranty. Your apologist attitude leaves one in doubt of your motives

Big fail, oh and your "rant" says it all

Err ok. Got to get my head round this.
You bought it privately (I think) from a guy that bought it from a local non specialist car dealer (I think).
I bought it from a dealer who got it from the guy who originally bought it from the local aston dealer Sorry I didn't mean to be vague
