One more pic - not good at this uploading stuff.
Car was already in stock so couldnt alter spec but it was a manual which was my main objective !
Based obviously on the V8S, spec was already pretty good including the black turned wheels , alcantera interior ,700w premium audio , black calipers etc.It also had the alrm upgrade ( ridiculous to have to spec this anyway ) autodim rv miror ,memory heated seats and camera so to be fair not sure what else I would have really wanted? It didnt have the option sports suspension although the standard seems ok and not that different to say the 911 GTS it replaced although I was a bit fussed it may be too soft -internet forums can get a bit confusing on this one !
Noise with the loud button on trundling round more than compensates for anything I didnt get though.
And did I say it was manual ?!

Think the button I had fitted when switched on gives you the noise all the way through but saves pulling the fuse .
As a comparison to the 911 - havent done enough miles yet in the Aston but thus far the 911 feels much smaller although its only in width where the Aston is a fair bit bigger -17cm or so - both feel pretty planted and the Aston steering feels as nicely weighted if not slightly better.Road noise similar and not much in it on feeling the bumps in the road.Engine noise well obviously no comparison and you feel much more special in the Aston.

Gibbon , the Vantage sounds and feels like it is going quicker but I suspect the Porsche actually is - A to B over normal roads Porsche is quicker and " easier " to chuck about - the Vantage doesnt encourage you as much.Straight acceleration not much in it although the Vantage feels more linear. That all said I have always taken it easy on new cars ( irrespective of bench run ins ) so suspect when 1000 miles up I will be pushing the Aston much harder than now so difference even less.As a daily driver though the Porsche is boring in comparison from a feelgood factor.

Phew will cancel the advert then - I read the book , knew the answer was the S and then got seduced by the SP10 sitting there.
In fairness the suspension doesn't feel that different to the 911 GTS in standard setting so was pretty happy.
Does the SP addition to the book mean I now need to buy another copy ?!
