Burghley Event Diner,Saturday 26th July 2014.

Hopefully you've picked this up from the main Burghley House Post,but if you haven't its about a get together with Private Dining
on the Saturday evening before the event at the George Hotel of Stamford.

I'm going to let this list run for about 5 days to allow people to put their name and numbers down before going to see the Reservation
Guy at the George.

I'm not rushing anyone and yes its a long way off but its the George's suggestion to get sorted sooner rather than face disappointment.

You don't have to be staying at the George to join in so if your staying over at another Hotel or you just happen to be passing or indeed
live nearby your all most welcome to come along and enjoy.

Running this till close of play on Monday 2nd Sept before forcing myself to go for lunch next week, where upon I shall be making arrangements for our Private Function...{I'll supply the pig}.

I'll get the low down to whether or not a party of 30 plus can pick from the A la Carte Menu or as it is a larger group whether they offer some sort of set Menu.

If anyone has any dietary requirements please drop me a mail so that I can advise the George of your preference and relay their response for your approval.

At this point I will have my Spy Network tell me which room number has been allocated to the Scotsman for all your billing purposes,the number will be available by request
for a small cash consideration.

Any others wishing to Dine please add yourself to the list asap please,I'm sure there will be flexibility on numbers nearer the time, but it will give them some idea and at least it secures our room.

Ladies and Gentleman,

First and final call for the swill up this evening if you please.

I'll be organising the private room tomorrow to avoid, as they put it disappointment for next summer.

Although they want confirmation in a round about fashion I'm sure we can be flexible and add more if people
choose at a later date to join in with the party,basically I'm just the messenger.

I have had indication that for larger parties they offer a range of set menu's,but from what I hear the Fabled Sea
Food Platter does not appear on it.

I will try to rectify this omission along the way for those wishing to crunch some shells and fiddle with their Winkles
whilst around the table.

When I find out more about these set menu's I'll try to post them up here in PDF format for everyones perusal,approval
and hopefull agreement.

It'll be a toss up I suppose for my Wife for which of her 2 favourites to go for, it will be either
the Henry J Richebourg Grand Cru Cote de Nuits or a splash of Blue Nun....

Strangely enough I've been reading through a copy of their 2013 Wine list recently,which including
Bin ends runs some 13 A4 Sheets.............you'll be spoilt for choice as well as pickled.....

Well my little blue monster I really haven't a clue on wine as sadly I've only drunk water,or the odd Coke a Cola for the past 15 years.........

I've been very good on that front and with that in mind I expect to be gifted with the powers to turn water into wine shortly,so hopefully you'll be alright.

Fortunately I'm in need of no further stimulus to enjoy the party and as the Wife often remarks,"Christ what would he be like if he drank",so its probably
best that I don't.

I know its a long way off but I look forward to seeing the state of you after 3 bottles of Black Tower have washed down 2 dozen Welks, Half a Lobster
and the rest of the Ocean bed,you could even wake up with a tattoo or worse in bed with Tony Halls Monkey..... apparently it answers to the name Tosser.

ATTENTION PLEASE.

The largest of the Private function rooms at the George has now been reserved for our pleasure.

Please at this time be advised that the Maximum Permitted Number is 46 for seating and service,therefore the list is now closed.

Now we are along way off but this booking has to be taken now as the George rapidly fills its rooms and available dates due to it
renown popularity.

With this and our distant event in mind I suggest I run a reserve list for any late comers who would like to be considered in the event
of anyone having to drop out.

I won't post up this list, I would kindly ask for any interested parties to send me their details by PM.

Thanks for your prompt intention to Dine and I will attempt to post up some links of the George's Private Parties Menu's to mull over
and yes before you ask I'm trying to sort the same for a current Wine List.

Thank you Bins thats kind of you to mention.

As I mentioned earlier I'd post up something about sample menus and the grog list,well here you go.

The Sample Menu's which are currently running can be found by going to Food & Drink on the George website,

Once on Food and Drink all should become apparent so click menu's,the Wine can be found over on the left of the page.

Enjoy the viewing but do remember this is current and will change according to the season and the Executive Chef's mood
swings.

You will be seated in the Lambert Room which is named after one of Stamford's favourite characters "Daniel Lambert",who
was famous for being a complete and utter Lard Arse and as I've mentioned before his portrait hangs as testimony to his
glutinous ways at the entrance to the Hotel...........I'm sure he had gland issue's you know .

The Lambert is a sub section of the Oak Panelled Dining Room which can be partition off for private parties so maybe they've made
an exception on the opening days for me as I'm a thoroughly nice chap, either that or they've f*cked the whole job up..........

But fear not oh great one I like all good Military tacticians I have a contingency plan as Pizza Express is across the road..........

Hi every one,

I have had a call from the George Hotel who has had several enquiries from people booked in or are booking to stay for the Burghley Event asking whether they are booked for the
group meal on the Saturday night.

I've reposted the diners list which is currently at capacity of 46.To avoid continued confusion on the George's part could you please check that you are on the list,
If you are on the list you are confirmed as dining and have your seats reserved for you.

The George has now requested that I confirm the names of diners who will be resident for the evening meal and also the names of other diners such as myself
who will be attending the meal but will not be staying as a hotel guest.

For the 46 diners could you please e-mail me with your real names as I can't tell them such things as a Moose, 2 GT's a Jockman etc. and confirm if you are resident at the George hotel or not.
