Has anyone on here found an off the shelf colour touch up paint to match the AM liquid silver wheel paint finish as fitted to the wheel upgrade on Vanquish, Radide S and DB9.

I have picked up a few stone chips on the spokes of the rear wheels (due to the width they stick out further than the front). The under coat is black and it is very noticeable against the dark silver.

The colour code, if there is one would also do, I could get a small quantity mixed at me local motor factors.

I thought I would resurrect this thread in case someone has been successful in matching this wheel paint.
I haven't had any success yet. I have sent an enquiry to Rimstock, I believe they supply the wheels to Aston.

It's one stone chip on one spoke, as you say the base coat is black, therefore very noticeable.

I have mixed some paint and touched up the damage. However when I flatted the area with 3000 grade paper (extremely fine) it removed more of the silver coating, it must be the thinnest coating I have ever seen. I have covered the black and just left it. At least the diamond cut wheels have a good coat of clear coat to work with.

To fix this properly would probably entail refinishing all 4 wheels at the same time to get them all exactly the same. If I do this I will refinish in bright silver.

I'm very disappointed at how fragile this finish is, I'm afraid I just perceive it as another quality issue with these current cars.

I'm still waiting for it to arrive, if it arrives at all........................

There is no good local shop that would refurb for that kind of money, in any case I couldn't warrant a refurb for one shipped spoke.
