Burghley Event Saturday 'Saunter'
Discussion
Not a saunter more of a drive actually. Due to popular demand, well at least two of you, I have put together a 50 mile route around the highways and byways of rural Rutlandshire for the Saturday afternoon of the Burghley weekend. There are some surprisingly nice roads and villages en route and with a quick stop (time permitting) to take in a view of the Water it will take no more than 1.5 hours.
Based on check in times and so everyone can get settled at their various locations I plan on departing the George later in the afternoon so we can back by 5pm, that way we will have plenty of time to get into our best bib and tucker ready for dinner, or more likely a swift half before we get ready for dinner. All welcome not just the George stayers, the Oakham contingent will be able to peel off towards the end of the run and be back in Oakham by 5pm too.
Anyone interested please add your name, we'll do PM's and routes later in the week if there's any interest!

Oh, Andrew.....I love it when you go all butch...sends a shiver down me
It's taken you >this< long to get permission from Mhairi??
Crikey 3 minutes Phil, it's not just ambulance response times that are slipping , and I had hoped for more of a quiver than a shiver. You're right, compromise is an early arrival at Stamford for 'quality' shop time. Don't know what you're missing. It's taken you >this< long to get permission from Mhairi??

Ken. Retman is like a man possessed in his V12V . Stick with Molly and I , we will keep you safe!
Don't listen to him Ken, there is a reason his tyres are shagged, and it's not because they have done 10,000 miles..... great to have you along. I'll PM a map of the route tomorrow (my grasp of Google maps permitting), with such a small group no one will get lost as long as Rob can keep up.
