Yes, I'm very grateful to AM for taking the time to do this.

FWIW, I put in my request via the customer link on the AM website as suggested by some here. That was 2 days ago and today the sales manager at my dealer forwarded me an email the factory sent him with the attached pictures. Impressive. I half expected that my message would go unanswered.

Now I have to figure out who to bribe for them to "accidentally" put the engine of the V12VS behind mine in the line into my car instead. smile

BTW When I showed the build pics to a friend, he said: "You should see if they could just ship you the parts and you'll put it together to save some money tongue out".

I think he's right. They should just save themselves the work. After all, as soon as I get it home, I'm just going to take it apart anyway. hehe

The interior is going to have black Alcantara inserts in the seats and door cards with yellow accent stripes and stitching to match some of the exterior yellow accents. You can already see some of the yellow stitching in the pics above. It'll be a little different from your typical silver/grey/black Vantage with obsidian interior that's for sure. smile

Well, there's been a lot of progress since last set of pictures. These may be the last ones you see before it goes on to get "Q'd" by yours truly. smile

The price is different, but the specs vary as well. For example N430 comes with a carbon fiber facia, no navigation and lightweight seats, whereas the GT gets standard facia, navigation but sport seats. Overall, though, the price is indeed cheaper in the USA.

Hmm. Okay, I guess you guys are getting shafted on price then. biggrin

On the other hand, unless something changes very soon, there won't be any more US-bound Vantage coupes until circa 2018.

Huh, why?
FMVSS 214 side impact rules for the USA. Vantage does not pass. AM trying to get an exemption but no joy yet.
^^^ This. Current deadline is August 31, 2014 for coupes; August 31, 2015 for convertibles. Vantage and DB9 do not meet current regulations. Unless the waiver requested back in April gets granted, we will have to wait until the newly redesigned and compliant cars come to market.

That is going to be a painful wait as it plods across the Atlantic!
Painful indeed. I suspect the Atlantic plod will take about a month once the build is complete. frown

I should have got the factory to take my build pics rather then my own poor efforts! Amazing that someone took the trouble to take these at three production stages.
Yes, Aston's customer service has been fantastic. I am very grateful and happy.

Love the wheels. I see it's the older style grille rather than the UK N430 version. Great colour too.
Not sure I know what you mean. The grille is the same as on the N430. My car will be getting the standard grille replaced with the genuine V12VS carbon fiber grille when it goes through "Q" though. wink

Is it having anything else done whilst it's at Q? Are you going for the yellow bits or not? Which is the first bit that will get pulled off and wrapped when it gets to the other side of the pond? The suspense would be killing me. I was bad enough waiting the 10 days whilst my pre-owned V8V was being prepped and this is on an entirely different level.
Just to be clear, I am Q.

The only reason it wasn't a 10-minute job for William was because he was changing the front bumper from the older style which requires new wheel well liners, undertray, and the new bumper itself. Changing the grille is a trivial task.

That said, taking apart and putting back together the bodywork on these cars does not scare me. It's actually pretty easy.

Has she sailed yet KF bounce ?
The wait is agonizing. I went to the dealer on Saturday and out front sat a shiny black new GT - the first one they have received. So I had them check the status on mine and it said it was sitting at the distribution center and won't arrive to the dealership until September 22 which means it hasn't even set sail yet even though it was finished a couple of weeks ago.
