Just driven last 650 miles into Monaco and some guy points out a pink slightly oily liquid on the front side drivers wheel. There were no signs of trouble on the journey and all fluid levels are fine. I tried to wash it off and it was a bit like a pale pink oil based liquid. It had no taste and I guess about 20 mls at the most was on the wheel. It seems to have stopped but what can it be? Is it just that I drove over some container of something or is there some vital liquid escaping.

I am very grateful for your help. It's great that I can ask for and receive help so quickly. The car is under cover at the Hotel de Paris at the moment so life is good. I will recheck the levels before setting off to Tuscany tomorrow.

Could also be that one if your shocks is leaking badly depending on how big the puddle was.
Hi, only about 20 ml I would guess so not a large amount.
Tony. The reason I tasted it, apart from curiosity,
was that I thought coolant was sweet so the info may help. I've drunk most things!
Jon. Maps took me to the door but not sure my warranty will cover this temporary accommodation. smile

Have you checked your power steering fluid?. It is red/pink in colour. Hope all it ok with the car.
Thanks. I will check my drivers manual and see where the reservoir is and how to examine the level. Busy start to the day under the bonnet of the car outside the hotel.
