Two Questions

1) Now my car has just had its eighth service, what's the best way to extend the length of the service book?

2) Checking the oil on a V8V: - after you do the 20 sec warm up and 20 sec rest, you then unscrew the dipstick to wipe it clean. When you actually take the oil measure, do you reinsert the stick and lift up again without screwing it in? Or do you have to screw it all the way in then unscrew again to take the measure?
