Hi,

Just to let you know I've taken the sticky for the event down now and to close the threads surrounding the event I thought you might like to know a few facts.

The day attracted 249 Aston Martins to the grounds of Burghley with people travelling from as far a field as the Highlands of Scotland in the North and from Devon and Cornwall in the South West.

We had a several more exotic visitors to the show with Phil popping in from Bermuda and Ron dropping by via Abu Dhabi in his 1953 Concours winning DB Mk 111 just to add that international flavour.

Following onto the long haul boys we welcomed Gus over from Cork to add his infectious enthusiasm to the weekend, lets be having the 7 ready for next year Gus.

The 2 Spitfires were superb I think you will agree with the Blue one being a Super Marine MK19 running on a Griffon Engine and the other of course a Mk 9 with its Merlin power plant.

Both Aircraft for your interest are based at Coningsby in Lincolnshire and are part of the BBMF.

Look these Guys up as they do a tremendous job helping raise a lot of money for charities through out the year……….www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf

Well the main point of the post is to tell you the figure raised for Cancer Research and The MacMillan Organisation is £10,788.20 ……..clap

So thank you all for your support and for putting up with my ramblings…….thumbup

See you all again plus the rest that missed out next year, lets be going for 500 plus cars,I'll organise it if you lot will support it…………Game On….scratchchin

Yes Dave they did,but it all happened so quickly and with cars waiting in line to get in it was a split second thing.

I didn't even think about that until later when they had all been cut from the sheet and placed in the bucket………lol.

Would have been ironic if he was the prize winning plate that got drawn out that didn't answer the call so we pulled another one………….lol.

Not to worry, not the end of the world it was Burghley that got turned over not the charity fund...smile
