Can't Beat the DBS with the manual box. Personally think it looks better than the new vanquish too.

Managed to get an Omega Seamaster but only had wing collared dress shirts in the wardrobe at the time!!! Good spot though!

Nice Casino Royale DBS - If yours is a Manual 2+2 that's pretty rare!!

Very interesting - bon chance to the new owner!

Funnily enough I went to see DBS 007 when it was for sale last year with an Independent Aston Specialist in London. Had an offer in on it too…

Happier with my V12V, though!
Glad to hear you're happy with your V12V but surprised you passed up DBS 007 considering its huge investment/appreciation potential!!!

As Aston Martin has obvious ties with Bond however cliche they may be, a 007 chassis number has to add value to a car!! This combined with the 007 number being reserved for Barbara Brocolli, ( Director of Casino Royale), by Bez and the fact that Daniel Craig,James Martin and Brocolli visited the factory in 2005 to hand pick the colour.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1068195/...

I know this car is identical to the other DBS's except for the 007 number actually E000007. However there are a few very rich people who are either avid Bond fans or are looking to add a unique vehicle with a story to their collection. These people are willing to pay ridiculous numbers to get their hands on this car, despite it being almost the same as other DBS's. Despite being extremely cliche the Bond connection does add value!!!!

I think they did quite a good job!! Casino Royale is a great colour, especially on a sunny day when you can see the blue flecks.

I was disappointed to miss out - it had been on the market for ages, and as it happens I had a price on the table on a Saturday morning, the dealer left a message for me on the Monday saying "please call back, we can probably do something". When I called on the Tuesday, it was gone. Apart from the Bond thing and the exceptional condition of the car, there were some compromises on the very early chassis no. Once I knew it wasn't to be, I decided on getting the best DBS I could find. I had been tempted by the V12V, and went to AM Works to drive one back to back with the DBS. It was just to confirm my decision, really, but I drove the V12, then the DBS and made it around 200 yards and realised was completely wrong. An hour later the deal was done!

Don't get me wrong, I'm still rather envious of what you have there, but will always look on it as 'the one that got away'. On the upside I've got 3 bottles of the limited edition Bond Bolly in the fridge, so will just have to look forward to that!
It would be lovely to see some pictures of your V12V!
It's interesting you said the car had been on the market a long time. I'm also surprised you got such poor customer service from Nic Mee. this time around the car had a waiting list of 5 customers in 24 hours and 12 in 48, luckily I was first in line and had several people offering to buy the deposit off me!!!

Your V12V does look rather nice!

I do know about the James Martin association with the car and have read a newspaper article by him on it and her. Does he say anything special about it in his autobiography?
This is the article I have read, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1068195/...

On a slightly different note it would be nice to share a bottle of your BOND Bollinger one day !!

But not better than the original Vanquish Eh!
This is debatable! I love the looks of the original vanquish, especially in 'S' guise. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, however the DBS looks more modern and has just the right balance of elegance and aggression. I think everyone would agree the DBS has a far superior interior, although the Vanquish S/DB7 GT seats do look fantastic.
