Carbn diffusor on V8V -- not so sure anymore
Discussion
howdy all.
I bought a set of original V12 vantage sills for my V8V, waited until end of summer to get them installed. So next weeks its time.
Also bought a carbon diffuser which I believe is from the N420, brand new.
I am 100% certain that I want to install the V12 sills, just for some reason not so certain about the carbon diffuser anymore. My car is black on black, so im afraid it might just become a bit too dark.
So I guess this is to see if someone might be interested in taking over the diffusor from me? Thought I put it here first before chucking it on ebay or something like that.
Also if someone has a good pick of a 4.3 v8v with clear rear lights and v12 sills and n420 carbon diffuser, id be much obliged.

Is it an Oyacarbon rear diffuser or a genuine AM one?
Many board members have the Oya one fitted which is the same. If you search for the "Oyacarbon" threads, you'll likely fond a picture that would help.

One of the first things I did to my V8 was to change the rear diffuser. But, like you, I wasn't overly keen on the carbon diffuser (but because I don't really like carbon as a decorative item). I found a replica on Ebay which is made from glassfibre and is supplied in matt black ready for painting or bolting on as is. They seem to still be in business. Clicky
While I was looking around the Astons yesterday the salesman hadn't mentioned the stunning looking black V8 in the corner with its back to me as it had just arrived that morning. I assumed it was too new for me and it looked kind of different to the others - it had the carbon fibre diffuser. I think it looks fantastic and makes the car look more modern and sporty. I bought it.

looks nice indeed, i guess my problem is i like both looks hahaha.
Did you put more carbon parts on, as i see you have the duck tail as well?
Yes, wing mirror covers & rear light inserts.Did you put more carbon parts on, as i see you have the duck tail as well?
Side strakes & front splitter are on the way. Also powder coated the tail pipes satin black.
I put some pics up a while ago but here's a closer shot of the tail pipes & diffuser.

Yeah, the quality is good and they have been prove to be a good supplier. I'm thinking of another order, that diffuser does grow on you....Side strakes & front splitter are on the way. Also powder coated the tail pipes satin black.

do you have a pic of the car angled from behind, curious how black it looks now, is it with stock silver wheels?Side strakes & front splitter are on the way. Also powder coated the tail pipes satin black.

thanks
that looks nice.
I have clear rear lights, that matches well with the silver wheels like yours.
I guess my problem is that I like the carbon rear diffuser as much as the standard setup. So then I ask myself why change if you like em both equally...
Currently work is being done on my supercharged opel speedster, so need to wait till that is done before i hand over the v8v. So plenty of time to think it over.
Thanks all for the advice and pictures!

I can't wait to see the pics! You made the right call with the diffuser. Completely makes the rear of the car look more aggressive. I'm currently debating v12 sills, but I feel the car would also need either a prodrive or RSC front lip to complete the flow. Here are some before / afters of my 07 having clear tails, the (genuine) diffuser, and some caliper paint done http://imgur.com/a/Rzj0bThe bullet it through the church as the dutch say...the car is at my body shop for v12 sills fitment, carbon diffusor, wheels repainted (had some small chips) and some minor scratch removal on the front bumper!

That looks great! I think i made the right choice, I was very much debating to keep it original, because the idea of a v12v has popped into my head. Will need to wait until the end of the year to see if my finances will agree or not lol.
Even when I come to sell it, it will be the only 4.3 v8v that has sills let alone 200 cell cats, and carbon diff. Even don’t think there is a 4.7 available at the moment with sills, so I guess that would improve the odds of selling as it stands out with original parts.
Still have to wait little over a week till i can go pickup the car.
Will need some proper detailling first as well before i can take some pics.
Ill share some pics as soon as its done!
