howdy all.

I bought a set of original V12 vantage sills for my V8V, waited until end of summer to get them installed. So next weeks its time.
Also bought a carbon diffuser which I believe is from the N420, brand new.

I am 100% certain that I want to install the V12 sills, just for some reason not so certain about the carbon diffuser anymore. My car is black on black, so im afraid it might just become a bit too dark.

So I guess this is to see if someone might be interested in taking over the diffusor from me? Thought I put it here first before chucking it on ebay or something like that.

Also if someone has a good pick of a 4.3 v8v with clear rear lights and v12 sills and n420 carbon diffuser, id be much obliged.

is oya, the chinese manufacturer? then no. I bought it in germany from a guy who sold his v8 vantage, i was told it was original, but cant see if anywhere on the diffuser itself.

ill have a look through the pics, thanks!

While I was looking around the Astons yesterday the salesman hadn't mentioned the stunning looking black V8 in the corner with its back to me as it had just arrived that morning. I assumed it was too new for me and it looked kind of different to the others - it had the carbon fibre diffuser. I think it looks fantastic and makes the car look more modern and sporty. I bought it.
congrats!
any pics??

Yes, wing mirror covers & rear light inserts.
Side strakes & front splitter are on the way. Also powder coated the tail pipes satin black.
I put some pics up a while ago but here's a closer shot of the tail pipes & diffuser.

do you have a pic of the car angled from behind, curious how black it looks now, is it with stock silver wheels?

thanks

that looks nice.
I have clear rear lights, that matches well with the silver wheels like yours.
I guess my problem is that I like the carbon rear diffuser as much as the standard setup. So then I ask myself why change if you like em both equally...

Currently work is being done on my supercharged opel speedster, so need to wait till that is done before i hand over the v8v. So plenty of time to think it over.

Thanks all for the advice and pictures!

That looks great! I think i made the right choice, I was very much debating to keep it original, because the idea of a v12v has popped into my head. Will need to wait until the end of the year to see if my finances will agree or not lol.
Even when I come to sell it, it will be the only 4.3 v8v that has sills let alone 200 cell cats, and carbon diff. Even don’t think there is a 4.7 available at the moment with sills, so I guess that would improve the odds of selling as it stands out with original parts.
Still have to wait little over a week till i can go pickup the car.
Will need some proper detailling first as well before i can take some pics.
Ill share some pics as soon as its done!

do you have to take the rear bumper off to fit the diffuser? I'm thinking yes?

I love the look!
yes:
wheels
wheel arch liners
bumper

I got a pretty good deal on the price for fitting it all, but then again im a regular there (not with the aston thank god...)

All of that would be a pretty straight forward job. It is standard stuff for Porsche owners.
Yes indeed, tail lights as well.

Modyfing cars; well... i think two things matter: value of the car and age of the owner. If both increase, the smaller the chance people will work on it themselves.
Im not sure how that works with Aston owners...maybe because their avereage age is higher than porsche owner they are not as willing to work on their own cars.
Secondly if the cars are more expensive you're going to be more carefull....
No empirical data to substantiate any of the above ofcourse wink

I also own a crazy Opel Speedster (Brits call it vauxhall vx220 for some reason....)
Built the complete supercharger on it including complete cooling system for the supercharger and rewiring.
But in the case of the aston, the sills needed respraying and i only needed to pay a small extra to get everything fitted by professionals.

Sweet joy!

Picked up the car yesterday and boy-o-boy, what a difference.
Pics really dont do it justice; v12 sills, carbon diffuser and wheels refurbished.
That in combincation with the clear rear lights, its perfect! Just the way I wanted it.
Can't believe i waited so long to get this done.

The sills really make the car more masculent and carbon diffuser ties the rear-end in a sporty package.

Like Karl-Franz said in a different topic "If i could put sills on my mother, I would". I have to agree.

The shop said the sills were pretty straightforward. The diffuser took a lot longer to mount.....
