Creaky cracky noises
Discussion
Any help here would be much appreciated after local stealers mechanic listened and was stumped.
I have a creak, crack type noise emanating from my v8v front end. If I turn the wheels at standstill it happens at full lock and is a sharp click type noise like hard plastic snapping.
When moving it becomes more of a creak but only happens when you load/add more/less turn to the steering. Over speed bumps in a straight line it is completely silent.
I have had a good pull on the front wishbones. No play.
The noise cannot be replicated on jacks to get underneath as the load is removed from the front wheels.
Help please because it is very embarrassing and I'm at the point where I would rather be using the family car than my Aston.

Gents, thanks for your fast replies. I initially thought dry ball joint as well but having just spent a weeks worth of spare time sorting caster, camber arms, arb bushes, springs, discs and pads on the wife's CLK I'm not so sure now. Hers sounded like a choir of church mice at the slightest sniff of a pot hole whereas the aston is silent over any undulations, speed humps etc and only creaks on load.
I have the arb bushes on the 997 and belts on two of my duc's this weekend but after that I think it's going to have to be disassemble, lubricate and reassemble all ball joints and bushes on the front end just to rule it out.
