Vantage ECU swapped plastic for glass

I bought a second glass ECU for my 2011 vantage. I swapped the innards from my old plastic one to the new key. It opens and locks the doors etc.. But when it's inserted into the dash I get a key error when I try to start it. Anyone any ideas? I'm at a bit of a loss as it's a single pcb board and if it opens/closes doors it should start the car?

Thanks Glyn, I had just done that when I read your post. I was looking at the old plastic key and noticed the serial number on the piece of ferrite. I swapped them over and it did work perfectly after that.

Got it off eBay, it was second hand but as new. The seller had no codes for it which was fine as I only wanted the outer parts.
