DBS Carbon Ceramic Matrix disks
Discussion
Hi,
I have an issue with the front set of CCM disks on my 2009 DBS, in that there is significant feedback through the steering wheel when braking from high speed, and the AM dealer has told me that this is because they have had a set of pads fitted, but they haven't been bedded in correctly. They also squeal like a banshee when braking at very slow speeds, and they have also attributed this to the same issue.
If you look at the disks, you can see a portion that is worn more than the rest (about 70/30 split I guess) so in essence there is a ring that is shinier covering about 30% of the disk. (it isn't a noticeable ridge, just a change in the surface shine) If you compare this to the back set, the back set is evenly worn/shiny.
I've been told by the AM dealer that they will need to change the front set of disks and pads, at a cost of nearly £7k, so my question is, can anything else be done, prior to having them changed? Could they be milled to even out the wear, or would changing the pads and bedding them in properly this time help?
I will get them replaced if this is the only option, but thought it was worth asking before I did so.
Thanks in advance,
Scott.
