I have placed an order for the GT3 and seen the factory rendered illustrations. Virtually every panel is brand new, apart from the flared wheel arches and huge rear wing, the roof can be specified in carbon fiber, bonnet ventilation is as seen in the recently released shadowed image, an 'U' shaped carbon fiber cover , and both doors are caved to enhence aerodynamics.

Both front lower lip and rear wing are optional made of carbon fiber and painted in contrasting colour around the edges. What shocked me the most was the GT3 comes with new Vanquish centre console.

Unlike the Porsche GT3 RS to GT3. The changes made to the V12 GT3 comapred to the V12VS is so dramatice it can be seen as an entirely new car.

The only thing that lets the car down is still the gearbox which I tried on the track with a V12VS and was hugely disappointed. Upshift was simply unwilling and frustratinly awkward to engage.

I requested the factory to seriously consider offering manual as a no cost option much like what they had done to the last gen Vanquish, offering optional manul gearbox upgrade to the horrible original auto-box, my correspondent replied if there is enough interest they would certainly look into it.

I was just wondering given the choice, how many other potential GT3 owner would opt for the manual instead of sportshsift III?

Thanks everyone for your inputs and I will most certainly keep you updated with any progress.

Regarding the SS3, I wrote from my own experience a couple of months ago on a track with a sales representative next to me. After I made the complaint about the upshift he did remind me by lifting the accelerator it would smooth out the gear change. The whole driving experience reminded me of my E46 CSL, great chassis with magnificent engine and accurate steering, but the gear change was somehow a little old fasionly brutal if not slow.

I do not intend to abuse the car as a track weapon. This will be used as a road car with occasional spin on the B road across the country hence speed won't be my top priority. I am looking to enjoy the car with the highest manual manewverability rather than compromising some fun to find the sweet spot. This is the reason why I would like to see a manual transmission being offered

This to me, would be the greatest tribute to mark the end of analogue era.

Had a factory tour last month, saw the car in metal (and carbon fibre), absolutely stunning!!! The last of true ASTON MARTIN. Simply breathtaking!!!

Here is what I really think about the GT12

Styling is without doubt one of the most agressive AM of all time, nevertheless AM just don't go well with wings. The decos are awful and way over the top. My perfect spec would be a single tone colour without any accent nor wing, the massive ducktail alone does the job nicely.

As much as I love AM, let's face it, there is just no comparison between GT12 and rest of the pack ( 675 LT, GT3 RS, Speciale) in terms of speed nor technology due to lack of fund. On the other hand, GT12 offers something others have long forgotten. FUN. The chassis, steering feedback, engine noise and balance are all very old school and this maybe the last of the analogue supercar there is. This is why I am sticking with my order and not the 675 LT.

Sure 675 LT is a magnificent car in its own way , but I am certain Macca will spoil the party by introducing another super limited edition with addtional 30hp every other month.

If I can persuade AM into fitting a manual gearbox, I reckon they'd have a really good shot at winning this year's Evo COTY, but after all it is really down to how Mr Palmer wants to play it.
